Wonderfully soft flannel in a pretty pattern with feminine details! Fabric is also heavier than many other flannels on the market, which is great for the winter. I ordered up a size (usually an XS) as the flannel does shrink a fair bit. Not a problem when you know. Also, wish the sleeves were a tad longer and the sleeve elastic a tiny bit bigger. (And please use longer stitches when sewing in the tags, EW, as they are just too hard to get out and they do scratch a bit.) Highly recommend this very pretty nightshirt.
I bought this nightgown for a dear friend who is like a “mom” to me. She is 85 years old and absolutely loves this nightshirt—she wishes she could wear it all the time, and describes it as soft, comfortable, and very warm. The side pockets are a plus!
I really like this night shirt. It is pretty and flattering. I wish Eileen West made more sleepwear in the shorter lengths. I normally wear a L/XL, and in Eileen West, I always order a L, which is plenty generous. This nightshirt, however, while it fits, is not cut as generously as the flowier nightgowns. I might have sized up to have more flow around the hips, but I wouldn't want the shoulders to get too baggy looking. I am not actually a fan of the pockets. Right at the hips, where the nightshirt is cut a little bit narrower than I would like, you add large, generous, bulky flannel pockets. They are lumpy and awkward, and I would have preferred to use that little bit of extra space for my hips instead!
I have two flannel gowns from EW. One is a thin flannel which I love. I got this new flannel for a trip I just returned from to Italy. I had not worn it until I got there. I did not like it because it is a much thicker flannel and didn't conform to the body at all. I was unhappy with it but on the positive side it was warm.
